Voronoi 1
Garden-related work often involves working with wire. Whether it be to build a chicken run, a fence, or making an enclosure. Wire is an unfriendly medium to work with, and more often than not, somewhere in the process, blood would flow.
In an attempt to ‘soften’ wire, put my mark on it, and almost making it more feminine, I wrapped it with fabric. These are some of the vessels that developed from this process.

Caraffe
An early childhood memory is my grandmother’s carafe that was always on her bed stand. I remember having to fill it up on occasion, but a far stronger memory was her housemaid who would collect little stones to place in the carafe with soap (or vinegar?) and water, to shake and give it a proper clean. Liesbet was already middle-aged when I was little, very mischievous, and always teasing to upset my grandmother. She claimed it was to keep my granny young. Perhaps this creation can be seen as a nod to Liesbet, another woman from my early life.
This was crocheted with embroidery thread coupled with very thin copper wire.
